Blitz is one of the most important oi/punk bands of all time. Only a year after their formation in 1980, their debut single was released, which also became the first record of the newly formed No Future label.

1982 saw the release of their first album Voice of a generation, which became the true voice of a generation, not just its title. Today we know that this is one of the most important oi/punk albums ever. Shortly after the album's release, guitarist Nidge left the band and the remaining members recorded a second album, stylistically far removed from the original work.

The Blitz label then disappeared for a few years until former guitarist Nidge raised it from the ashes in 1990. The remarkable album The Killing Dream was released that year under the Blitz name. For the most part actually a solo album by Nidge, who was joined on vocals by Gary Basnett of Attak. The result is a very distinctive record that straddles the line between punk, new wave and post-punk. It has the unmistakable spirit of the original Blitz and yet is a progressive and unique record that has in many ways survived the test of time.
